Mr Lih-Ming Wong is a urologist with sub-specialty interest and training in urological cancers (prostate, kidney, bladder and testis). He enjoys discussing urological symptoms and diseases with his patients to help them better understand the treatments available
A graduate of Melbourne University, Ming completed his urology training in Victoria in 2009. Subsequently, he spent one year in Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge, and two years at Princess Margaret Hospital Toronto in uro-oncology fellowship training. During this time, Ming gained experience in robotic assisted surgery, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection, cystectomy and managing complex urological cancer cases.
In addition to his uro-oncology interests, Ming is comfortable managing men with lower urinary tract symptoms and urinary tract stones.
Ming holds an honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer position at the University of Melbourne. Ming has multiple postgraduate degrees including a Diploma of Surgical Anatomy, Masters of Surgery and Doctor of Medical Science. During his training, Ming was awarded the Keith Kirkland prize. Ming has presented papers at multiple international conferences and also published manuscripts in major journals such as European Urology, British Journal of Cancer and Journal of Urology. He was previously head of clinic and supervisor of trainees at St Vincent’s.
Mr Geoffrey Wells is a urological surgeon based in Melbourne.
After graduating from Melbourne University, Mr Wells trained in general surgery in Australia and spent five years in Scotland where he obtained general surgical fellowships from the Glasgow and Edinburgh Colleges of Surgery.
Upon returning to Australia he obtained his urological fellowship of the Australian College of Surgeons and has subsequently been in private and public practice since 1992.
His special interests include the management of urinary stones, prostate cancer, prostate seed implantation, bladder cancer and urinary diseases. Other general urological procedures include the management of urinary incontinence and sexual disorders in both males and females. Mr Wells also specialises in vasectomy reversal and scrotal surgery.
